Agriculture Service Board

The Agriculture Service Board was established in Stettler in 1955, in accordance with the Agricultural Service Board Act of Alberta. The ASB is funded through a Provincial Service Board Grant,·Sales and Service from Control Programs, Municipal Tax and other grants.

These funds are budgeted by the Agricultural Service Board members and approved by Council. ASB activities are administered by the Agricultural Fieldsman.

The Agricultural Fieldsman enforces these Provincial Acts:

····· 1. Agricultural Service Board Act;
····· 2.·Weed Control Act;
····· 3. Soil Conservation Act;
····· 4. Agricultural Pest Act; and Bylaws and Policies of the Agricultural Service Board.

This Board is made up of County Council. Together with the Agricultural Fieldsman, they address the current and local issues affecting agricultural production and develop policies and implement programs for the benefit of farmers and the environment.

The Agriculture Service Board holds regular meetings on the fourth (4th) Wednesday of every month, commencing at 11:00 am.·ASB meetings are held in the County of Stettler Administration Building Council Chambers and are open to the public.
